Have you ever stood in front of the mirror and done “the flex” ? You know the superman  or the superwomen pose, looking all muscular and perfectly shaped – something most of us really aren’t  ?

PLEASE don’t lie to me I know you have, we all do..

It’s always fun to act like something were not. That is why Halloween and costumes parties are so popular, We get to dress up and for a moment be something we can’t be in real life.

Now the million dollar question…Is that how we act in front of our God mirror ?  Trying to look all buff and ripped, looking like something we aren’t just to impress  but really just full of air ?

All of us at times  will try to put on our  masks to try and  show that we really are something or somebody we aren’t,

Trying to serve somewhere we are not called just to be seen or stand out,

What must be the condition of the heart that is trying to pull this off ?

Lets look at it this way, if your heart is right, there would be no need for a mask.

We have to remember :

You can mask your face but you can’t mask your heart– We can tell ourselves that no one will know  but guess what – God will know.

Is your walk that of  faker, a poser, or  something else ?

Paul tells it this way: But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them “’.

Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” [Ephesians 5:13-14 cev]

So take off the mask and make-up and live a life that is fitting and serving the only ONE that matters –Jesus Christ the son of God.

People may throw their darts–people will say things that may  hurt, are lies…and there will be times when you feel that hell would be a definite improvement

In all things we do, tell yourself this this:

I serve an audience of One.

Believe it – live It !!!

WOW… I have really gotten lazy lately in the blog follow through and can only thank God that the rest of my spiritual walk has not been as neglected.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a leadership seminar last week and heard something that has changed my entire perception of leadership and ministry focus, It went something like this:

” The most common mistake most leaders make is instead of finding their target, taking aim and shooting at that target with all the skill and training they have in them, they shoot blindly and when the arrow hits -They then walk up to what they have hit and then draw the bulls eye”

I guess for some that hit and miss philosophy is all well and good in some circumstances but is that good enough for what God desires from us?

Does this mean we have to have a unwavering 5-10-20 year plan laid out before we embark on our  journey towards our goal?

Probably not,

Have you ever taken a trip with a destination in mind? Did you have a plan for getting there?

Did you have a map? GPS? Map quest directions?

Of course you did, nobody would ever go anywhere without having a plan for getting there BUT do we always get there the way we originally planned?

NO! there are going to be obstacles such as traffic, accidents, closed roads and here in Michigan – the 5th season, Construction !!!!

Does that mean that there will not be awesome sights or a great scenery? Should the focus of our intended destination be forgotten since our view is fine from here ?

Well, should we set goals for our ultimate destination? Yes! We must use goal setting as a map – a GPS to keep us focused, effective, and fruitful as leaders. But goal-setting must be done humbly,  with depth, passion and complete faith in God and His plan for our life.

Unfortunately it seems that most are happy to set goals for what is to be accomplished and then just run through life headlong bumping and banging into things until we eventually end up somewhere, It may be almost as good as where we were headed.

But is it where we were sent ?
